#ThrowBackThursday is here, and we’re diving into a bit of nostalgia, reminiscing about some of our past projects and iconic moments in time. This week, we’re heading back to 1999—yes, that’s 25 years ago now! It feels like just yesterday, but time has flown by. That year, we had the exciting opportunity to create tickets for some of the UK’s most beloved amusement parks: Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Southport Pleasureland, and the now-closed Frontierland in Morecambe.
As a huge fan of theme parks myself, it’s always fun to look back at these designs and remember the times spent at these classic British attractions. Southport Pleasureland was always a favourite for a day out, and who could forget Frontierland at Morecambe? It was such a special place for many visitors before it sadly closed its doors in the early 2000s. While Frontierland may be gone, its iconic Polo Tower still stands tall today. Repurposed as a telephone mast, it’s a bittersweet reminder of what once was—carrying with it memories of the fun and excitement that filled the park.
Looking at these old tickets brings back waves of nostalgia, not just for the parks themselves but also for the design process. It was an incredible experience to collaborate with such legendary attractions, knowing that our work would be a part of so many happy memories for families and thrill-seekers alike. The bold colours, the fun typography, and the excitement each ticket represented still make us smile today.
If you have fond memories of visiting these parks, we’d love for you to join us in reminiscing. Share your stories, photos, or thoughts with us as we celebrate #ThrowBackThursday. You can find us on Facebook and Twitter, where we regularly post more blasts from the past. Let’s take a moment to look back, share some memories, and keep the spirit of these iconic parks alive!
Feel free to share this post with your friends, and let’s celebrate the joy of theme parks and the unforgettable designs that brought them to life!
